DIY Glasses Case Recover

Okay. I know. This is the second time I've done this tutorial, but I think this one is much clearer and it doesn't have anything about painting the case, like this one. This is how to simply recover a glasses case.

1) Carefully remove the plastic insert if possible.

2) Peel off the current covering if possible (you could cover it).

3) Make sure the fabric you are going to use is spotless and wrinkle-free.

4) Brush a very, very thin layer of white glue over one side of the case.

5) Smooth the fabric over the glue.

6) Trim the fabric to about 1/2 inch extending past the side of the case.

7) Use an Exacto blade to trim the fabric at the hinge. Slice it along the hinge. At the end of the hinge slice the fabric straight from the hinge to the end of the fabric.

8) Hot glue the fabric tightly down around the inside of the case starting at the sides and then doing the corners.

Make sure to pull through and glue the fabric closest to the hinge down tightly.

9) Hot glue the plastic insert back in.

10) The last step is to lightly brush a small amount of clear-drying glue (most white glues do the trick) across the cut fabric edge by the hinge.

Repeat steps 3-10 to the other side of the case. Enjoy your new glasses receptacle.
